Complexing constants

In this table there can be seen that _Baypure® CX100 is a medium-strong complexing agent. As far as the stability of the calcium complex is concerned, there is a considerable difference from EDTA, because EDTA (and the closely related product, DTPA) has a very high tendency to form a complex with calcium ions.

In practice, this is expressed by the fact that, _Baypure® CX100 adsorbs traces of heavy metal ions in the process water just as well as EDTA/DTPA and is thus a very good bleach stabilizer in water with a heavy calcium load (as it, for example, in the processing of waste paper already containing a filler).
